11.4.2006 | CzechInvest | CzechInvest has ceremoniously opened its new office in Munich, the agency’s second such German branch. It’s director is Eva Bernardova, previously a project manager of the Investment and Applied Research Division. The commencement of activities was accompanied by a seminar entitled “Investment Opportunities in the Czech Republic”, during which the newly named director presented the investment climate and system of investment support in the Czech Republic, her immediate goals, strategy and the territories on which she is focusing during her work abroad. Thanks to its expansion, CzechInvest is now able to more intensively dedicate itself to potential investors in Austria and Switzerland.
“German companies are simply the most significant foreign investors in the Czech Republic. Since 1993, they have invested over EUR 13 billion(CZK 428 billion)in the country,” said the new director of CzechInvest’s Munich office, Eva Bernardova, adding: “The Czech Republic uniquely has the most suitable logistical position for German companies and, in combination with relatively lower salaries, qualified people, the language skills of workers and the abundance of graduates, especially of technical universities, the country offers an ideal background for doing business.”
Senior Vice President of DS-CRS/PG product group and until recently the business manager of its subsidiary Bosch Diesel s.r.o in Jihlava, Kersten Janik, themanaging director ofMubea s.r.o., Christian Söder, and theGeneral Consulof the Czech Republic in Germany, Karel Boruvka, were among those who shared their experience of the Czech Republic with participants at the inaugural investment seminar.Other speakers included representatives of companies providing legal, tax, consulting, construction, personnel and other services to foreign investors in the Czech Republic. Such companies include, for example, NÖRR STIEFENHOFER LUTZ, KPMG, Adecco Prag, andTakenaka Europe, among others. The seminar was opened by the CEO of CzechInest, Tomas Hruda.
In addition to the new office in Munich, CzechInvest has operated a branch in Cologne for a number of years. “The number of investors and other interested parties who turn to me every day for information is continually growing. I am very pleased that I finally have a colleague, even though she’s somewhat far away in Munich, as I hope that in tandem we can successfully share the work and more effectively dedicate ourselves to our clients. Eva will engage clients in Austria and Switzerland, and therefore I firmly believe that together we will gain even higher-quality projects for the Czech Republic than previously,“ said Renata Haklova, director of CzechInvest’s Cologne branch, commenting on the opening of the Munich office.
In addition to Germany, CzechInvest has seven other foreign offices around the world - in London, Brussels, Yokohama, Paris, Hong Kong and two in the United States (Chicago, Silicon Valley).
