Welcome Package Project

CzechInvest formulated the Welcome Package, which has the objective of streamlining the procedure for entry and employment of key foreign workers who need to obtain the necessary permits (residence, work) as quickly and smoothly as possible in connection with the placement of an investment in the Czech Republic or for newly established, technology companies with domestic investor (start-up). The project was approved by the Coordination Body for the Protection of the National Borders of the Czech Republic on 19 October 2017 and was officially launched on 1 November 2017.

CzechInvest is responsible for the inclusion of firms in the project, including administration of applications.

The project is focused on statutory representatives, managers and key specialists of newly incoming companies or for newly established, technology companies with domestic investor (start-up). The benefit of the project consists in shortening of the period for issuing work permits (within ten days) and long-term visas/employee cards (within 30 calendar days). Employee cards/blue cards are issued for a maximum two-year period of residency. Intra-company employee transfer cards are issued for a maximum three-year period of residency and long-term visas will be issued for stays in the Czech Republic longer than three months, though for a maximum of six months.
