Ukraine Project

Inclusion in the Ukraine Project enables applicants to receive an appointment for submitting employee-card applications to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kiev. Applicants thus do not have to request an appointment for an interview at the embassy via the Visapoint system, but are rather approached by the embassy if their future employer has gained inclusion in the project.

Project of special procedures for highly qualified employees from Ukraine

Inclusion in the Ukraine Project can be requested by an employer that has been operating in the Czech Republic for at least two years and is a tax resident of the Czech Republic pursuant to Act No. 586/1992 Coll., on Income Tax, is registered as a payer of health and social insurance contributions, has settled all of its obligations toward the state and fulfils other stipulated conditions. Furthermore, such employer must substantiate that the skilled specialist will receive, during the period of the employment relationship, a salary/wages corresponding to at least the amount of the relevant average income according to the CZ-ISCO employment subgroups or salary/wages in the minimum amount corresponding at least to the minimum amount stipulated for blue cards in the case of an employee-card application and that the employer will enter into an employment relationship involving full-time work with such employee for a period of at least one year. The annual quota for the Ukraine Project is five hundred applicants.

Inclusion in the Ukraine Project including administration of applications is carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. CzechInvest issues recommendations for companies that want to be included in the Ukraine Project. Such recommendation is one of the conditions for inclusion. Recommendations are also issued by the Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, the Association of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic and the Confederation of Employer and Business Associations. A recommendation is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue.

The full text of the project is available in the annex, including all conditions that must be fulfilled for inclusion in the Ukraine Project and the form for requesting issuance of a recommendation.
