Vítkovice to Make Furnace Structure for Swedish Power Plant

Vítkovice Power Engineering (VPE) will manufacture for Austrian company Andritz Energy&Environment the steel structure for the fluid furnace of a power plant in Stockholm. Project leader Alois Lička stated that the contract is worth CZK 60 mln. VPE will deliver 1,000 tons of main steel structures, which will carry a significant portion of the technology. It will also manufacture 340 tons of so-called bandages that will stabilize the built-in membrane walls of the furnace. The Vítkovice company will commence construction of the main structure at the beginning of January 2014 and the power plant should be completed in summer 2015.
