The main topic of the CEE Innovators Summit, which was held in Warsaw on 27-28 March 2017, was support for innovation in the Visegrad Four countries. Prime ministers Beata Szydlo of Poland, Viktor Orban of Hungary, Robert Fico of Slovakia and Bohuslav Sobotka of the Czech Republic discussed venture financing, digitalisation of the state administration and the role of economic policy in supporting the region’s innovativeness. One thousand attendees of the summit had the opportunity to learn about particular innovative start-up companies from Central and Eastern Europe. The Czech Republic was represented at the event by the start-ups Beenode, Corinth, Flydeo and Greycortex, which were accompanied to Warsaw by a representative of CzechInvest.
The participating leaders of the V4 countries signed the Warsaw Declaration on Innovation, thus officially initiating the possibility of financing innovative projects from the Visegrad Fund, which had previously rather supported cultural projects.
