TPCA oslavila 10 let od zahájení výroby v České republice

On Tuesday, 10 March 2015, carmaker TPCA celebrated the tenth anniversary of the start of production at its Kolín plant. The company marked the occasion by donating its latest models to the Kolín police and fire departments and to the local retirement home. At the same time, the company contributed CZK 2.3 million toward the revitalisation of the local Kmoch’s Island.

Production of the Toyota AYGO, Peugeot 107/108 and Citroën C1 models in Kolín began on 28 February 2005. Since then, a total of 2,570,000 vehicles have rolled out of the plant, where TPCA currently employs three thousand people. Thousands more jobs have been created at the company’s suppliers throughout the Czech Republic. TPCA receives 80% of the components used in its vehicles from domestic suppliers.

The factory, which was built at a cost of CZK 26 billion, was the biggest investment of its time in the Czech Republic. CzechInvest assisted with bringing the investment to the Czech Republic and subsequently administrated investment incentives for the investor. Over the past ten years, TPCA has paid CZK 10 billion in wages and CZK 10 billion in taxes to the state.
