Spanish company Lana Construction to build plant worth 14 million dollars in Vysocina
7 Feb. 2006 | Spanish company Lana, a renowned manufacturer of three-ply wooden panels for the construction industry, has decided to build its new production facility in the Czech Republic in Zdirec nad Doubravou (Vysocina Region). The firm is investing 14 million dollars (350 million crowns) into its construction, which will be launched in the spring. The new plant will offer jobs to at least 50 people.
“We decided to increase our production capacity in Central Europe in order to satisfy growing demand for our products,” said Pablo Rozas, Production Manager of Lana Construction, and added: “After extensive investigations, we chose the Czech Republic because it offers an experienced work force and excellent transport infrastructure.”
“It’s no coincidence that Lana will build its plant in close proximity to the large wooden material processing company Stora Enso Timber Zdirec, which is a subsidiary of the global wood processing concern Stora Enso,” commented CzechInvest Project Manager Radek Zatloukal.“The Czech Republic is known in Europe as an importer of quality wood, which was also one of the reasons the Spanish investor short listed it in when choosing where to expand.”
