15 Aug. 2006 | CzechInvest | Today marks the official start of production at the O&M Solar plant in Olomouc. The company, which is engaged in the assembly of solar modules, will invest 1,4 million Euro here and employ 25 people. In the course of the following few years, production capacity is expected to as much as triple.
The main investor is the Japanese company Onamba co.,Ltd which already operates the firm Czech Republic Onamba s.r.o. in Olomouc. “Thanks to this project, we have experience with the Municipal Council of the City of Olomouc as well as with CzechInvest. We are satisfied here and we therefore decided to again locate another project in the Olomouc region,” says Shigeaki Suzuki, Managing Director of O&M Solar.
The advantageous location played a significant role in the decision-making process. “We found suitable lease conditions for the investor on the site of the Zeleznicni industrial zone, where necessary modifications had already been made for the start of production,”adds Pavlina Slepickova, regional project manager at CzechInvest.
At the assembly plant, O&M Solar will assemble solar photovoltaic modules intended to directly transform solar radiation into electrical energy. Over twenty people will find work here in the first phase. In light of the company’s planned increase of production over three years, additional jobs should be created.
