Representatives of Czech firms and universities establish cooperation with their American counterparts

Representatives of CzechInvest conducted a technology mission to the United States from 17 to 20 October 2017. The delegation visited major technology centres and operating facilities of companies in the states of South Carolina and Georgia, where the automotive and manufacturing industries are strongly represented. The biggest BMW factory in the world and Michelin’s centre for the North American market are both located in South Carolina.
The delegation also included representatives of the Automotive Industry Association of the Czech Republic, the companies AUFEER DESIGN, TESLA Jihlava and ALBAform, the Technical University of Liberec, Czech Technical University, Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín and the Czech University of Life Science. They were accompanied by representatives of CzechInvest, the Czech Embassy in Washington, DC and the honorary consul for the states of North and South Carolina.
The mission participants familiarised themselves with the business and research environment of these states, visited the campus of Clemson University, where the renowned iCAR research centre is located, and met with representatives of firms and significant associations. The mission enabled the creation of promising opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the Czech Republic and the United States.
