Regus to open its financial shared service centre for the EMEA Region in Prague

10 Oct. 2008 | CzechInvest | Regus, the world´s leading provider of workplace solutions, is setting up in Prague its financial shared service centre for its branches operating in 44 countries of the EMEA Region

Regus, the world’s leading provider of flexible workspace solutions and serviced offices, is currently setting-up in Prague its financial shared service centre for its branches operating in over forty countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The Prague centre is set to open before the end of 2008 and will employ at least 60 specialists within three years. Regus anticipates further expansions though. To start the Prague centre the company is investing almost 20 million Czech crowns.

Regus chose the Czech Republic amongst fierce competition from five other Central European countries. For example Slovenia, Hungary or Slovakia were involved. In the end, Prague turned out to be the best,” says Alexandra Rudysarova, appointed CEO of CzechInvest. “Prague offers enough skilled specialists that the investors welcome in their projects. Also important was the fact that we were able to offer Regus a form of aid especially designed to support this type of investment.”

Up to now, all our centres in 44 European, Middle East or African countries, where we operate, managed their financial support services independently. Over the last three years we have worked hard to unify our systems and founding our financial shared service centre in Prague tops this endeavour,” explains Paulo Dias, Regus CEO EMEA. “Prague has a great location in the middle of Europe and is thus easily reachable from all the places we operate. Before making our final decision we also evaluated living conditions in several cities and we are convinced that thanks to Prague’s lifestyle and its reputation we will be able to lure into the Czech Republic experts from abroad, where the local labour market will be in short supply.”

“The Prague shared service centre will provide services such as contract management and compliance as well as a consolidated credit and collections team for the region. The centre will also provide support needed in connection with controlling the financial activity of the region, including treasury, tax and IT specialists. The company currently operates 235 business centres in the EMEA region.

Regus operates office spaces and related services in four business centres in the Czech Republic, three in Prague and one in Brno. “Our premises in Prague are always in high demand and because of that we plan to open a new business centre along with the financial shared service centre,” adds Paulo Dias.
