Prague to host international photocatalysis conference

Scientists and businesspeople involved in photocatalysis will meet in the Czech capital at the two-day International Conference on Photocatalysis – Standardisation and Certification Assisting Commercialisation. This year’s conference will not be only a scientific gathering, as it will also focus on necessary steps to be taken in the areas of legislation and consumer protection, as well as the use of photocatalysis in practice. In particular, the conference will offer findings on ecological applications for decontaminating water, air and soil. The event will present the current state of photocatalysis and specify the requirements for further development of this technology and its utilisation.

The conference will be preceded by a general meeting of the European Photocatalysis Federation (EPF) and a joint meeting of the EPF, the Photocatalysis Industry Association of Japan and the Czech Association for Applied Photocatalysis, whose participants will discuss possibilities of cooperation with the aim of facilitating the introduction of photocatalytic products to the market. At the time of the conference, the Czech Association for Applied Photocatalysis will become a new member of the EPF, which will ease the unification of recognised standards.
