Nošovice Industrial Zone is Business Property of the Past Twenty Years

9 Nov. 2012 | CzechInvest, Ministry of Industry and Trade, AFI | Title awarded for extraordinary benefit for the Czech economy.

The Nošovice industrial zone was prepared by the Moravia-Silesia region for the major global automobile manufacture Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech. The carmaker began trial operation in November 2008 and started manufacturing vehicles in April of the following year. For its contribution to the Czech economy, the Nošovice industrial zone, where more than 4,000 people currently work, received the special Business Property of the Past Twenty Years award.

The prize for extraordinary benefit for the Czech economy was presented on Tuesday, 6 November 2012, at Veletržní palác in Prague within the Investor and Business Property of the Past Twenty Years competition, which was organised by CzechInvest and the Association for Foreign Investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic.

Second place in the Business Property of the Past Twenty Years category was awarded to the Plzeň – Borská pole Municipal Industrial Park, where forty Czech and foreign companies operate on 105 hectares in the southwestern part of the city of Plzeň. Production of control systems and instrument panels for the automotive industry, precision engineering and manufacture of air-conditioning equipment, forms and plastic prototypes are the dominant activities in the zone.

The third-place winner is the Ostrava – Hrabová Indusrial Zone, a 100 ha site where four companies are involved in manufacturing vehicle bodies and computers, production and repair of machines and equipment, and activities in the area of real estate. More than 7,000 people are employed in the industrial zone.

CzechInvest has been attracting investors to the Czech Republic for twenty years and therefore this year the traditional Investor and Business Property of the Year competition bore the name Investor and Business Property of the Past Twenty years. In addition to the traditional Investor of the Year and Business Property of the Year categories, awards were also presented to investors and business properties that have been extraordinarily beneficial to the Czech economy over the past two decades.

The main partners of the event were the ČEZ Group and ČSOB. CTP Invest was the partner. The supporting partners were the National Gallery in Prague, the agencies Quix and AC&C, Zátiší group and the Association for Recognition of Quality. The media partners were Czech Radio, Ekonom weekly, Prague Leaders Magazine and the magazines Project & Property and Development News.
