On 1 June 2017, the Japanese company Central Glass confirmed its investment in the SemtinZone complex in Pardubice, from which it will serve its European customers.

“Key changes are now occurring in the automotive industry. We want the Czech Republic and our firms to have the best possible prerequisites for further development in these new trends,” says Karel Kučera, CEO of CzechInvest, which commenced negotiations with Central Glass in 2016.

The company was attracted to Pardubice by the possibility of cooperation with local universities and the secondary school of chemistry. In connection with a signed agreement on cooperation, the company will offer 40-50 new jobs to local applicants. The new factory’s annual production is planned at 20,000 metric tonnes of electrolytes.
