Neturen to Begin Construction of a New Plant in the Triangle Industrial Zone this Summer
15 May. 2013 | CzechInvest, Ministry of Industry and Trade | The Japanese firm plans to launch production in the Ústí region in 2014.
Neturen, a Japanese manufacturer of metal components, will begin production of its first manufacturing plant in the Czech Republic at the beginning of July. The company selected spaces in the Triangle strategic industrial zone for its investment in the value of CZK 400 million; CzechInvest assisted Neturen in its search for the most suitable location. The project will create forty new jobs in the Zatec area. The company plans to begin production in April 2014.
“This investment is particularly gratifying for the Czech Republic, as it is being implemented in the Usti region – one of the country’s regions with the highest rate of unemployment,” says Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kuba.
Petr Ocko, acting CEO of CzechInvest and head of the EU Funds Section of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, considers the Usti region to be appealing to investors. “It has an ideal location on the border with Germany and is thus available for customers and suppliers there,” he explains. “Last year nearly one-tenth of investment projects mediated by CzechInvest, in the combined value of just under CZK 3 billion, were undertaken in the Usti region.”
“One of the aspects that we considered when selecting the location for our manufacturing plant is the potential of the local workforce, especially among students,” explains Shigeru Mizoguchi, COO of Neturen Czech. “We will soon begin with the first phase of recruitment; the second phase is planned for autumn this year.”
The Neturen group is composed of 14 subsidiaries and five branches manufacturing and selling steel pre-stressing reinforcement and bent steel reinforcement bars for pre-stressed concrete used in construction and heat-treated and tempered wire used mainly for automobile and motorcycle suspension springs. The company is also involved in the production of equipment for induction heat treatment and performs heat treatment of components for automotive safety components, machine tools and construction machines.
Covering an area of 364 ha, the Triangle strategic industrial zone is one of the largest strategic industrial zones in the Czech Republic. It was constructed on the site of a former military airbase, where obsolete and disused structures were demolished and ecological hazards were liquidated. Nine investors currently have operations in the zone.
