CzechInvest, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, will present the Czech Republic from the economic perspective during the 30th Summer Olympic Games in Great Britain. The agency is organising seminars on investment opportunities, the new system of investment incentives and possibilities of mergers and acquisitions for potential investors and other members of the professional public. CzechInvest will also present the special CzechLink project. The events will take place on Monday, 30 July, and Tuesday, 7 August, at the Czech Olympic House in London and will feature Martin Kuba, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, and Michael Žantovský, Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Great Britain.

“The Czech Olympic House will offer visitors not only a background for our sporting successes and a rich cultural programme, but it will also be a place where Czech firms can present their products and services and establish new business contacts. The industry and trade section will help assist them with this – among other things, by presenting investment opportunities in the Czech Republic,” says Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kuba, adding: “I personally consider this to be very important for the Czech Republic to maintain a leading position among the countries that are most attractive for investors.”

“The main topics of the seminars will be investment opportunities in the Czech Republic and the services that CzechInvest provides to foreign investors,” says Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest, describing the events in more detail. “According to the available analyses, 75 percent of positive reports in the foreign press are about Czech sport. Of course, we strive to ensure an ever greater share of business and investments in the Czech Republic as well as Czech firms in the rest of the world.”

The first seminar will be focused on mergers and acquisitions, as private companies often perceive the Czech Republic as a gateway to Europe. The CzechLink project and the Investment Gateway portal will also be presented. The second event, also intended for potential investors, banks, brokers and consultants, will be dedicated to the new system of investment incentives, which came into effect this year on 12 July.

The M&A Opportunities in the Czech Republic seminar will be held on Monday, 30 July, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Featured speakers will include Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kuba, CzechInvest CEO Miroslav Křížek and Kamil Blažek, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Association for Foreign Investment. CzechInvest is preparing the second seminar, Investment Incentives in the Czech Republic, for Tuesday, 7 August, again from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Following an opening address by Ambassador Michael Žantovský, CzechInvest’s representative in London, Michal Mravinač, will outline the Czech Republic’s investment climate and the advantages of the new legislation. Both seminars will be held in the Business Design Centre at the Czech House in Islington, London.
