JOB AIR Painting will paint Airbuses and Boeings in the Ostrava region

26 Oct. 2010 | CzechInvest, AFI | JOB AIR Painting named Investor of the Year 2009 in the Manufacturing Industry category for its paint-facility project.

JOBAIR Painting has won the title of Investor of the Year 2009 in the Manufacturing Industry category. The company received the award for its project involving the construction of a centre for painting aircraft at Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava. ŠKODA AUTO and CCI Czech Republic finished in second and third place, respectively. The winner in this category received the crystal block today at 7:00 p.m. during the celebratory announcement of the results of the tenth annual Investor of the Year 2009 competition organised by CzechInvest and the Association for Foreign Investment.

“The implemented investment in the aircraft paint facility is connected with our company’s overall project to build a large-scale repair centre in Ostrava. In the first phase, a maintenance facility was built, followed by the paint facility in the second phase, and in the third phase we are focusing on components maintenance,” explains Daniel Barč, director of JOB AIR Painting.

The paint facility will be able to service BOEING, AIRBUS, ATR, SAAB, BOMBARDIER and EMBRAER aircraft. In the newly constructed hangar, which is equipped with all necessary technology for painting aircraft, it will be possible to simultaneously park two aeroplanes the size of an AIRBUS A320 or BOEING 737.

Dozens of new jobs are being created in the Moravia-Silesia region thanks to the paint-centre project. Due to JOB AIR Painting’s investment, LeošJanáček Airport will become one the most important aircraft-maintenance locations in Europe.

ŠKODA AUTO won second place in the Manufacturing Industry category for its project to invest in the expansion of its existing transmission plant in Mladá Boleslav. Within the project, ŠKODA AUTO plans to purchase new manufacturing technologies and buildings in connection with the expansion of its production of MQ100 transmissions.

The third-place award in the Manufacturing Industry category was presented to CCI Czech Republic, which in 2009 decided to invest in the construction of a new factory for the production of pressure and regulator valves for the energy sector in the Brno-city district.
