Investor of the Year 2010 and Business Property of the Year 2010 competitions have their winners

Brembo, Edwards and NetSuite Czech Republic can boast the title of Investor of the Year 2010. These companies received their awards for newly created jobs and their benefit to society, among other things. The Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone, Strojírna Oslavany and the Business Incubator of the Palacký University Science and Technology Park in Olomouc were named the Business Properties of the Year 2010. The decisive factors in their victories were, for example, the amount of the planned investment of all investors, the promised number of new jobs and their benefit for the Czech Republic.

The results were announced by CzechInvest in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Association for Foreign Investment (AFI). The awards were presented to the winners by, among others, Minister of Industry and Trade Martin Kocourek, under whose auspices the competitions took place, and Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest, on Tuesday, 1 November 2011, at the Eco-Technical Museum in Prague. The winners were selected by an expert committee composed of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the AFI and CzechInvest.

The competitions included six categories:

1.     Business Incubator of the Palacký University Science and Technology Park, Olomouc

2.     Innovation Park of the South Moravian Innovation Centre

3.     Forum Business Centre

Business Property – Zone of the Year

Business Property – Brownfield of the Year

The evening was hosted by Daniela Písařovicová and the music group Lanugo performed at the celebratory event. CzechInvest perceives its activities in the area of corporate social responsibility as a long-term investment and a natural part of its operations. The agency administrates a range of projects which have an impact not only on employment, but also on the environment and the event was therefore held in an ecological spirit.

Investor of the Year and Business Property of the Year are competitions organised annually by CzechInvest and the Association for Foreign Investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. This year the competitions took place for the eleventh time, jointly for the second time. The main partners this year are ČEZ and ČSOB, while the Office Islands project of HOCHTIEF Development Czech Republic served as the partner.Supporting partners are the QUIX agency and Zátiší Catering.
