Investment Week: Students tour the acoustic and climate laboratories at a research institute in Liberec

In connection with Investment Week, the Research Institute of Textile Machines in Liberec opened its doors to students from the local Secondary School of Building and Transportation Engineering on Thursday, 19 June 2014. The students had the opportunity not only to learn about the institute’s current activities, but also to have a look at individual laboratories. Representatives of the institute guided the students on a tour of the acoustic and climate testing facilities, production facility, and the computation and modelling and laser laboratories. Weaving technology and mechatronics were also demonstrated to the students. VÚTS, a.s. is focused on research, development and production of machines and equipment for the manufacturing industry, particularly in the areas of machining, textile, printing, food-production, packaging and medical technologies. According to Tereza Suchomelová, director of CzechInvest’s Liberec office, the purpose of the event was to motivate students to stay committed to their field even after graduation and to seek employment in the Czech Republic instead of finding work abroad.
