Investment Week Starts on Monday
11 Jun. 2014 | CzechInvest | The event will culminate with the Investor and Business Property of the year 2013 awards ceremony.
Investment Week will take place from 16 to 20 June under the auspices of Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek. The purpose of this major event is to initiate improvement of the investment environment in the Czech Republic. As such, the event's programme features open houses hosted by investors for schools, seminars, workshops and breakfasts with businesspeople in the regions. The highlights of Investment Week will be the conference titled 2014: A Crucial Year for Investment in the Czech Republic and the Investor and Business Property of the Year 2013 awards ceremony, both of which will be held in Prague on 18 June.
Investment Week will include a number of regional events with topics focusing primarily on technical education, as well as design in industry and research and development. CzechInvest has also brought together schools and universities so that students will have the opportunity to look inside investors' operations and see with their own eyes the kind of work done in a given company. "In the ideal case, students will recall Investment Week when choosing their further education and vocations, and will focus on technical professions, which a number of investors are calling for," says Ondřej Votruba, acting CEO of CzechInvest.
As part of Investment Week, the 2014: A Crucial Year for Investment in the Czech Republic conference will take place on 18 June at Žofín Palace in Prague. "We selected topics that according to our research are of the highest importance to investors. Attendees will include representatives of both companies and the state administration and local authorities, thus two parties that sometimes misunderstand each other, but whose synergy is of fundamental importance for the Czech Republic's economic growth," adds Ondřej Votruba. The programme will also feature two special roundtable discussions focused on the Moravia-Silesia and Ústí regions.
The whole day and, in essence, Investment Week itself will culminate with the Investor and Business Property of the Year awards ceremony. The purpose of this event is to give recognition to major investment projects implemented in 2013, creating thousands of jobs and contributing to the greater competitiveness of the Czech Republic.
