Investment Week: Seminar in Hradec Králové provides advice on tax deductions for research and development

Approximately twenty representatives of investors and companies with their own research and development operations attended a seminar titled Tax Deductions for Research and Development, which was held in Hradec Králové on Tuesday, 17 June 2014. During the main presentation, Karin Osinová of KPMG Česká republika presented the currently valid relevant legislation, including practical examples of good practice in applying tax deductions for research and development. This was followed by a presentation given by Daniel Všetečka of CIRI on the Intelligent Specialisation Strategy of the Hradec Králové region. Participants particularly valued the opportunity to pose direct questions to the experts in attendance. Tax deductions for research and development are used by roughly one thousand firms in the Czech Republic and amounted to more than CZK 10 billion in 2012.
