Investment Week: Design is a competitive advantage for companies

Local businesspeople, representatives of universities and designers came together at the Design for Business seminar held in the conference spaces of CzechInvest’s office in České Budějovice on Friday, 20 June 2014. The participants discussed the benefit of design for companies and the possibilities of acquiring patent rights for their unique projects. They also focused on guidelines for harmonising visual presentations with the business objectives of the given company, the specifics of cooperation with designers and the process of creative work from the designer’s perspective. Thanks to a presentation on design and patent protection, the seminar also spurred the participants’ interest, as these are topics that affect a number of companies in the region and had not been previously addressed in depth. The event was organised jointly by CzechInvest’s South Bohemia and Vysočina regional offices.
