Huisman will design, manufacture and test two cranes for undersea operations from a drilling ship. This information was provided by Huisman spokesman Vojtěch Bednář who added that these knuckle-boom cranes would be the first ones to be designed and manufactured in the Czech Republic. The order totalling several dozens of millions of korunas was put in by Ecovix, a Brazilian ship manufacturer. Huisman technicians will spend approximately one year working on the project. Each crane should have a lifting capacity of 60 tonnes and will be constructed for underwater lifting. Their task will be to manipulate special pipes during drilling operations. The cranes will be able to lift things underwater up to the depth of 2.5 km.
