Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone named Industrial Zone of the Year 2010

2 Nov. 2011 | CzechInvest | The zone attracted six investors in 2010.

The Holešov Strategic Industrial Zone has been named the top industrial zone of the last year within the Business Property of the Year 2010 competition. The zone is one of the biggest developed sites in the Czech Republic, covering a total of 360 hectares; basic technical and transportation infrastructure was completed at the end of 2009. Land plots ranging in size from 0.5 ha to 360 ha are prepared for investors in the zone. During 2010, six investors, including FVE Solar Group, Pokart and KART Zlín, chose the zone for implementation of their investments.

Second place was awarded to CTPark Ostrava. Last year the company CTP managed to attract six investors to the zone in Ostrava, including Brembo, ABB, I-Zone and Grupo Antolin. The zone is interesting for investors especially because of its strategic location, as it is situated in the vicinity of an international airport and is not far from the city centre. The total area of CTPark Ostrava is 80 ha.

CTP also won the third-place award for its CTPark Brno project. Three significant investors - Kompan, Wistron and Visco TeePak – decided for the zone last year. The advantage of the industrial park, which covers an area of 80 ha, is indisputably its good transport accessibility, as it is situated in close proximity to the D1 motorway and not far from the Brno international airport.

Business Property of the Year is a competition organised annually by CzechInvest and the Association for Foreign Investment in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. This year marked the eleventh anniversary of the event. The main partners of this year’s Business Property of the Year competition are ČEZ and ČSOB, while the partner is the Office Islands project of HOCHTIEF Development Czech Republic. Supporting partners are the QUIX agency and Zátiší Catering. Media support for the competition was provided by the weeklyEuro, Czech Radio 1 – Radio Journal, Stavitel (Builder) and Project & Property magazines, and the monthlies Parlament – Vláda – Samospráva (Parliament – Government – Local Administration) and Development News.

The competing investment projects are evaluated by a committee composed of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the Association for Foreign Investment and CzechInvest. The celebratory announcement of the winners took place – together with the announcement of the results of the Investor of the Year 2010 competition – on Tuesday, 1 November 2011, at the Eco-Technical Museum in Prague.
