20 Apr. 2015 | CzechInvest | The company was honoured in the Exporter of the Year competition and is planning further development.
For GE Aviation Czech, a Prague-based manufacturer of aircraft engines, 2014 was a successful year. The company’s sales of H75 and H80 turboprop engines increased by 30% in comparison with 2013.
The company presented its results at a meeting with partners, including the United States’ ambassador to the Czech Republic, Andrew Schapiro, CzechInvest CEO Karel Kučera, and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Tomáš Novotný.
GE Aviation recently implemented further modifications of its H75 turboprop engine, which is intended for the older version of the L-410 aircraft operated by the South African firm Air Tec. The company is also successfully continuing with production of the H80 engine. Several new projects involving aircraft equipped with H-series engines had their maiden flights last year.
Besides business successes, GE Aviation Czech won the title of Exporter of the Year 2014 in the Best Export Transaction Supported by the State category.
The beginning of 2015 saw the maiden flight of the Nextant G90XT powered by H75 engines, by which GE Aviation is entering the market of turboprop aircraft for private business clientele. In the course of this year, it is anticipated that new H85 engines will be put into operation in new-generation L-410NG aircraft manufactured by Aircraft Industries.
Employing more than 400 people, GE Aviation Czech is the biggest developer and manufacturer of turboprop engines in the Czech Republic.
