EuroNanoForum 2013: The Czech Republic seeks new business partners for nanotechnology
26 Jun. 2013 | CzechInvest | The main objective of Czech participation in EuroNanoForum was to establish new commercial relationships that will support the development of nanotechnology in the Czech Republic.
The Czech expedition in Ireland was focused on seeking out potential strategic partners in Europe, both in research and development as well as in investments and export of Czech products. The Czech Republic was represented during the event by officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and specialists from CzechInvest and CzechTrade, who conducted 150 business meetings during the forum. Even though the Czech Republic ranks among the world leaders in the area of research and development of nanofibres and nanomaterials, Czech companies often have problems competing with producers from economically stronger countries because of limited budgets.
The Czech Republic received the most interest from representatives of global research facilities and companies working with nanofibres and nanomaterials from Ireland, Great Britain, Russia, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Finland and the United States.
EuroNanoForum is Europe’s biggest event in the field of nanotechnology and is attended by the leaders in this sector. The event is held every two years, with support from the European Commission, in the country currently holding the European Union presidency. Ireland hosted the forum this year from 18 to 20 June.
