Employment at TMT Chrudim could open the whole world to students
26 Jun. 2014 | CzechInvest | An excursion to the firm gave students a clearer understanding of their role.
On Wednesday, 18 June 2014, students from the Secondary Vocational School of Electrical Engineering in Pardubice visited TMT Chrudim spol. s r.o., a major manufacturer of transportation, handling and conveyor technology. The students toured the production complex on the site of a former sugar mill, which won the Industrial Zone of the Year award in 2005. The group also visited the company’s automated development centre. TMT Chrudim supplies its products not only to the European market, but also to the United States, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey and Russia. The company’s employees travel to all of those countries and new graduates have the opportunity to engage in such work. During the excursion, TMT Chrudim offered the visiting students part-time work and internships, which some students have already accepted. Cooperation between vocational schools and companies in the region is problematic, as firms often have to pay for such excursions and students do not actively seek cooperation with them. The excursion organised by CzechInvest thus helped to improve communication in this area.
