Daniel Adamčík named Business-Property Manager of the Year 2009

26 Oct. 2010 | CzechInvest, AFI | Mr. Adamčík honoured for his work at the Mošnov Industrial Zone.

Daniel Adamčík of the Department of Economic Development, Ostrava City Council, has been named Business-Property Manager of the Year 2009. He received the award for his work for the Ostrava-Mošnov Strategic Industrial Zone. The Business-Property Manager of the Year category is part of the Business Property of the Year 2009 competition organised by CzechInvest in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Association for Foreign Investment (AFI).

Daniel Adamčík has been the manager of the Mošnov zone for six years, during which firms have invested CZK 6 billion here. “It was originally a thirteen-hectare site. We expanded it to 200 hectares in connection with interest from Hyundai. When Hyundai decided to go to Nošovice, we divided the zone into smaller plots,” explains Adamčík.

The year 2009 in Mošnov was marked primarily by completion works on the utilities networks. In addition, agreement was reached on the lease of fifty hectares of plots for a new investor and intensive work is also underway on a project involving a rail connection between the zone and Leoš Janáček International Airport in Ostrava.

“In future we want to find at least one more big investor, for which we have reserved a 45-hectare area,” says Adamčík, revealing his further plans.

Business Property of the Year is a competition organised each year by CzechInvest and the Ministry of Industry of Trade in cooperation with the Association for Foreign Investment (AFI). The general partner of this year’s competition is the ČEZ Group; the partners are ČSOB, the National Gallery, QUIX and Zátiší Catering. The media partners of the event are Euro, Z1, E15 and Strategie.

The competing investment projects are evaluated by a committee composed of representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, the AFI, CzechInvest and previous winners. For the first time this year, the celebratory announcement of the winners was realised in conjunction with the announcement of the results of the Investor of the Year competition. The awards were presented to the winners today at 7:00 p.m. at the Cloister of St. Agnes of Bohemia in Prague. The ceremony was attended by guests including members of the government and Parliamentary and Senate committees, governors, ambassadors, significant investors, owners and managers of business properties, and developers.
