Czechs present ground-breaking nanotechnologies in Austria

The first Czech Nanoday held abroad took place in Vienna on Wednesday, 20 April 2016. Czech nanotechnology companies presented inventions on which they had been working in recent years to dozens of Austrian firms.
The Austrian firms’ attention was captured by applications that improve the quality of the environment and healthcare, such as production of drinking water from waste on farms, smart paints that clean the air, antibacterial clothing and special filtration with a nanofibre membrane that can be regenerated by the filter itself. The event also featured a practical demonstration of nanotechnology products. The company Nafigate presented samples of its Nano Eye Lift preparation for removing skin wrinkles and, for example, the firm Nanotrade demonstrated how a necktie with water-resistant nano-treatment cannot be stained with red wine.
The event was held in cooperation with the Czech embassy in Vienna, CzechInvest and the Nano Association of the Czech Republic. The next event presenting Czech nanotechnology abroad is Building Blocks of the Future, a Czech-German workshop scheduled for 14 June 2016 in Dresden and organised by CzechInvest in cooperation with Germany Trade and Invest, the Czech embassy in Berlin and Fraunhofer IWS.
