CzechInvest’s CEO Named Manager of the Year in the Business and Public Services Sector

The celebratory announcement of results of the prestigious Manager of the Year 2011 competition took place on 26 April 2012 at Žofín Palace in Prague under the auspices of Prime Minister Petr Nečas. CzechInvest CEO Miroslav Křížek was named Manager of the Year 2011 in the Business and Public Services sector.
“I see this award as recognition for everything that CzechInvest has done to support Czech businesses, which of course is the work of the entire team, not just one person,” says Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest, adding: “For me personally, this prize is also motivation to continue in our efforts to provide the best possible support and to develop a healthy and competitive business environment in the Czech Republic.”
Miroslav Křížek became CEO of CzechInvest in September 2010, at a time when the agency did not have a clear vision for further development. Therefore, Mr. Křížek set up, introduced and progressively implemented a complete strategy called New CzechInvest, which is aimed at increasing the Czech Republic’s competitiveness through new and innovated products and services focused on science, research and innovation. He also strengthened CzechInvest’s approach to social responsibility, open communication with all employees regardless of their work assignments and transparent decision-making. During his time in office, CzechInvest has also won, among other awards, the National Prize for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the Czech 100 Best award in the category Ingenuity – Commitment – Export – Profit.
Ing. Miroslav Křížek, Ph.D. (*1979)
Miroslav Křížek is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, where he currently serves as an instructor and is preparing for a lectureship. Among other activities in his professional life, he established the Prague Language Institute in 2005 and, a year later, the Business Development Institute at the University of Economics. Since 2010 he has served as the CEO of CzechInvest, where he considers it his personal priority to support the growth of the share of innovations and investments with high value added and commercialisation of the results of science and research. Miroslav Křížek is married and has a daughter. Besides his native Czech, he also speaks English, German and Spanish. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with is family and their dog, a golden retriever, and his most rewarding hobby is piloting airplanes.

CzechInvest has been supporting the inflow of foreign direct investments to the Czech Republic for twenty years already. Since its establishment in 1992, the agency has mediated 1,798 investment projects with the total value of more than CZK 715 billion, thanks to which nearly a quarter of a million new jobs have been created.
