CzechInvest promoting Czech aviation industry in Great Britain
23 May. 2011 | CzechInvest | The Czech delegation will meet with representatives of Rolls-Royce, GE Aviation Systems and Boeing UK, among others.
Representatives of Czech institutions, experts and aviation firms are undertaking an aerospace mission to Great Britain from 24 to 26 May 2011. The objectives of the mission are to promote and strengthen the Czech aviation industry and to establish contacts with possible strategic partners for development of new products, cooperation in production, delivery of components and joint projects in foreign markets.
“The Czech aviation industry is very dynamic, and the local market is not sufficient for it. Therefore, we are endeavouring to stimulate foreign aerospace companies’ interest in implementing investments in the Czech Republic and, at the same time, to help Czech aviation firms assert themselves abroad,” says Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest, who is also taking part in the mission on behalf of the agency. “The mission’s main ambition is to contribute to the creation of projects such as that involving cooperation between the Czech company Aero Vodochody and the Brazilian firm Embraer,” Miroslav Křížek adds.
The Czech delegation’s programme includes meetings with representatives of British aerospace companies and research institutions. The mission will begin in London, from which it will continue to Coventry and the university in Cranfield. The several dozen British firms involved in the mission include such companies as Rolls-Royce, Boeing UK and GE Aviation Systems. Besides representatives of CzechInvest and the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London, the companies Aero Vodochody, Prague Casting Services and SEKO edm are also involved in the mission.
The aviation sector in the Czech Republic is undergoing significant development, especially in the area of manufacturing aircraft, integrated aerostructures, aircraft engines and hydraulic and fuel systems, and in the development of advanced cockpit and navigation instruments. The Czech aviation and aerospace sector is at the top of industry, integrating technical findings and producing modern technologies.
The mission was organised by CzechInvest in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic under the auspices of Michael Žantovský, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The mission’s partners are ADS Group, the Midlands Aerospace Alliance and the Farnborough Aerospace Consortium.
