CzechInvest presents investment opportunities in the Czech Republic to members of YPO
9 Jun. 2011 | CzechInvest | Possible cooperation discussed
A group of representatives of firms from the United States has visited the Czech Republic. Among other things, the group was interested in the domestic investment environment, and thus met with Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest, and his statutory deputy, Alexandra Rudyšarová on 1 June.
“During the meeting, we succeeded in raising awareness of the Czech Republic among a prestigious group of leading American companies which could become potential investors in the future,” says Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest, adding: “The possibilities offered by the Czech Republic appealed to them, and we would therefore like to more intensively pursue the organisation of such meetings.”
The representatives of the participating American firms are members of the Young Presidents’ Organisation (YPO), which associates approximately 18,000 company presidents and directors from more than one hundred countries. Conditions of membership include being under the age of 45 and holding the position of president or director of a firm with at least 50 employees and turnover of at least USD 8 million. More information is available at www.ypo.org.
“When investors look for a region in which to place their investments, they always consider numerous criteria, one of which is the relationship between their home country and the country where they want to implement their projects. Thanks to historical experience, the Czech Republic has an above-standard relationship with the United States, which is necessary to exploit,” explains Jan Bobek, business manager of the company Tebodin, which is a member of the Association for Foreign Investment.
“The meeting with the American delegation from the Young Presidents' Organization was very inspiring. The members of YPO with whom we had the opportunity to speak expressed great interest in the Czech Republic and information about the country’s competitiveness in Europe,” says Tomáš Laboutka, ambassador of the Sandbox community for the Czech Republic. “I am pleased to have found a range of opportunities for cooperation in the field in which I am most active, which is in building up European start-ups. I would therefore like to thank CzechInvest for organising this event.”
