CzechInvest and Czech research centres jointly exhibit at Life Science Week 2016

Life Science Week is a prestigious event in the pharmaceutical sector and presents not only research and development in the sector, but also laboratory and production technologies. The event annually attracts the attention of science and research facilities and producers. Held in Basel, this year’s edition took place from 19 to 23 September 2016 and attracted representatives from more than forty-five countries and provided space for the presentation of research and development programmes, as well as investment opportunities in the Czech Republic.
In cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bern, CzechInvest exhibited at a stand during the MipTec trade fair, which is part of the event, and within an accompanying conference programme offered a presentation of research facilities with the participation of the Czech ambassador to Switzerland, Jan Borůvka. Programmes in the area of research of new treatments and therapies were presented by representatives of the Biotechnology and Biomedicine Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic (BIOCEV), the Czech Centre for Phenogenomics, the International Clinical Research Centre of St. Ann’s University Hospital in Brno, the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC), and the Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic. New findings in the area of biochemistry were presented together with advances in cancer treatment and the current application of findings in molecular genetics in the development of new treatments and in medical practice.
