7 Dec. 2009 | CzechInvest | Recent Czech-Argentine Technology Days culminate with signature of an agreement between CzechInvest and its Argentine counterpart.

Argentina and the Czech Republic will intensively cooperate in the area of mutual foreign investments. The recent Czech-Argentine Technology Days culminated with an agreement between CzechInvest and the Argentine National Investment Development Agency. The agreement was signed by the president of the Argentine agency, Beatriz Nofal, and the CEO of CzechInvest, Alexandra Rudyšarová.

“Argentina can be a gateway to South America for the Czech Republic,” explains Alexandra Rudyšarová, CEO of CzechInvest. “Thanks to the similar mentality, Czech companies can easily find a range of reliable business partners there. Cooperation between CzechInvest and Argentina will mainly involve state-of-the-art technologies, particularly in the areas of mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, biotechnology, software development and renewable sources of energy.”

“Signing the agreement opens up opportunities for organizing a full range of various events to support mutual investments, such as investment seminars, trade missions, etc., which will promote and simplify the exchange of information pertaining to key sectors and priority areas of investment,” says Beatriz Nofal, president of the Argentine National Investment Development Agency.

The main draw of the Czech-Argentine Technology Days was the participation of Professor Vladimír Mařík, head of the Department of Cybernetics at the Czech Technical University, which among other things is known for reconnaissance robots, self-diagnosing submarine motors and cardiostimulators with diagnostic capabilities. The results of the department’s work have been purchased by companies such as Bosch, Toyota, Rockwell, Honeywell, Boeing and Samsung, as well as by the United States military.

The Czech-Argentine Technology Days event was organised by CzechInvest in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the Czech Technical University. Roughly fifty researchers, businesspeople and representatives of the state administration participated in the event.
