CzechInvest accompanies Kertak Nanotechnology to one of the world’s biggest nanotechnology trade fairs

15 Feb. 2011 | CzechInvest, Kertak Nanotechnology | The Czech firms was chosen by Japanese companies.

Kertak Nanotechnology is the only Czech firm to participate in the nano tech 2011 trade fair, which will take place from 16 to 18 February 2011 in Tokyo. “Kertak Nanotechnology is apparently preceded by its good reputation. It is one of five firms from around the world to be selected by Japanese companies to participate in the trade fair. I am pleased that CzechInvest arranged for Kertak’s participation in the trade fair and can accompany the firm through the entire mission,” explains Miroslav Křížek, CEO of CzechInvest.

Kertak Nanotechnology was invited to Tokyo by JETRO, the Japanese government’s investment and business development agency, which turned to CzechInvest to assist it with selecting potential partners for Japanese firms in the Czech Republic. "JETRO recognizes both big potential in nanotechnology sector in general and existence of strong Czech companies in this sector. That is why we kindly asked CzechInvest to distribute information about our program to invite foreign companies to the nano tech exhibition in Tokyo and we are glad that one of the Czech companies was successful in this worldwide competition and we could invite them to Japan to participate in this huge exhibition and search for new business with Japanese companies," says Mr. Hiroshi Sano, Director General of JETRO Praha office.

JETRO has organised for Kertak’s representatives 14 meetings with potential business partners. CzechInvest also arranged other meetings. “The Asian market is the fastest-growing market in the world and no firm which wants long-term growth can afford to ignore it. So we are very pleased that we were able to overcome global competition and thus to be selected by Japanese firms as a potential partner. We owe a lot to JETRO and CzechInvest, which professionally arranged for our participation in the trade fair,”says Jan Buk, production manager at Kertak Nanotechnology.

CzechInvest is taking part in the trade fair for the third time, though this is the first time that it is accompanying representatives of a Czech nanotechnology firm. “Japan is one of the world leaders in the nanotechnology sector, and it is very good for the Czech Republic to be represented at this trade fair. I consider trade diplomacy to be one of the priorities of my work. Therefore, I will gladly meet with Kertak’s representative in Tokyo and support his mission to the greatest extent possible,” explains Kateřina Fialková, the Czech Republic’s ambassador to Japan.

At the trade fair, CzechInvest will also present three other Czech firms which are active in the field of nanotechnology – NanoTrade, Styl and Synpo. “We have been cooperating with CzechInvest in several areas for a longer time already. We thus embraced the agency’s offer of active representation during nano tech 2011 in Tokyo. In light of the results that we have jointly achieved so far, we expect that CzechInvest’s representatives will help us to find new partners for research and commercial applications in Japan,” says Ladislav Torčík, general director of NanoTrade.

Kertak Nanotechnology was established in 2009 and specialises in commercial and marketing representation of Czech firms operating in the area of nanotechnology. It is one of the firms that received the opportunity to present themselves in Silicon Valley within the CzechAccelerator (Czech Technology Accelerator) programme.
