Czech Republic enjoying rising popularity in South Korea thanks to its mechanical-engineering tradition
17 Apr. 2014 | CzechInvest | That the Czech Republic is seen in an increasingly positive light in South Korea was confirmed by the SIMTOS mechanical-engineering trade fair held in Seoul in April.
For CzechInvest, this year has been marked by several important talks and meetings with potential investors in the area of precision engineering. CzechInvest participated in the SIMTOS trade fair at a stand shared with the Association of Engineering Technology. This single stand representing the Czech Republic thus drew strong interest from South Korean visitors who appreciated the country’s long tradition of machine manufacturing. Representatives of the firms with which CzechInvest met were impressed not only by the Czech Republic’s logistically advantageous location in Europe and its proximity to the German market, but also by the direct air connection to Korea. The SIMTOS trade fair is organised by KOMMA (Korean Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association), whose membership comprises the most important South Korean companies, including Samsung and Hyundai.
