CzechInvest, the Investment and Business Development Agency of the Czech Republic, and the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York are organizing a series of seminars focused on the fast growing and cutting edge Czech nanotechnology and new materials sectors. 

The programs will take place in New York, Boston and Albany during the week of October 6, 2014.

Leading Czech companies and research institutes in the fields of nanofibers, nanoparticles, and polymers will come to present their technologies, business opportunities and latest findings with the main goal to establish new connections and partnerships in joint research and technology transfer projects as well as in their business activities.

Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) - Marketa Borovcova (Head of Grant & International Office)

CEITEC is a multidisciplinary science center focused on life sciences and advanced materials and technologies offering state-of-the-art infrastructure for research divided into 64 groups and seven programs.

Focus: advanced nanotechnologies and microtechnologies (nanostructures, nanodevices, nanotribology), advanced materials (composites, advanced polymers, ceramic materials, sensors), robotics & cybernetics

Technical University of Liberec – Department of Nonwovens - David Lukas (professor)

The Faculty of Textile Engineering at Technical University of Liberec was established in the year 1960 and established a strong position in nanotechnology research thanks to its patented process of industrial-scale production of nanofibers.

Focus: nanofiber scaffolds – tissue engineering, composite nanofibers

Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation (CxI) - Adam Blazek (Industrial Relations Office)

CxI (part of Technical University of Liberec) provides long-term support of industrial research activities and utilisation of new technologies and technological methods in production.

Focus: competitive engineering, robotics and mechatronics, applications of nanofiber materials

Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials (RCATM) - Pavel Tucek (Head of Grant Office)

RCATM is a scientific and research center with its chief objective to produce superlative research and to transfer high-tech products and advanced technologies into medical, industrial and environmental practice with pronounced emphasis on connecting the center to international networks and collaborations.

Focus: metal oxide nanoparticles, carbon nanostructures, metal nanoparticles  for antimicrobial treatments and water-treatment technologies, medical and computational chemistry, photonics

NANO IRON - Jan Slunsky (CEO)

NANO IRON, s.r.o. is engaged in production of nanoparticles of elementary iron (Fe(0), nZVI = nanoscale zero-valent iron) and technical support in their application in innovative in-situ remediation of groundwater.

Focus: zero-valent iron, environmental applications, water treatment, groundwater remediation

SYNPO - Martin Navratil (CEO)

SYNPO is a commercially oriented, privately held research and development center offering new technologies based on applied polymer science and new products, primarily coatings, adhesives, composites and various binders.

Focus: contract R&D, testing and analytical services, manufacturing of specialties and tolling and process development, paint manufacturing, nanostructured polymers and polymers from renewable raw materials
