Czech companies exhibit at Farnborough International Airshow Trade 2016

From 11 to 15 July 2016, CzechInvest participated in the aviation industry’s most important event – Farnborough International Airshow Trade, which is held every two years in Great Britain. Czech companies such as Aero Vodochody, Czech Airlines Technics, Jihlavan, Czech Sport Aircraft, PBS and others exhibited at the event. Conversely, representatives of CzechInvest, CzechTrade and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic had the opportunity to meet with important partners from the ranks of aviation companies including, for example, Bell Helicopter, Airbus Industries, BAE Systems and GE Aviation.
The fact that the Czech aviation industry ranks among the best in the world, especially in the area of light and sport aircraft, was made apparent to trade-show participants by Deputy Minister Vladimír Bärtl, who arrived at the even in his own plane, which he piloted himself. He was accompanied by the legendary Czech pilot Jiří Kobrle, who represented Czech aviation in aerobatics for decades.
A seminar titled Presentation of the Czech Aviation Industry Skills and a networking reception attended by representatives of firms from the Midlands Aerospace Alliance were held on Wednesday, 13 June 2016. Andrew Mair, in his capacity as a representative of the association, expressed strong interest in implementing partnership projects with Czech aviation associations and intensifying cooperation across the English Channel.
