CGI IT Czech Republic opens new branch in Ostrava

CGI IT Czech Republic s.r.o., which is involved in consulting and services in the ICT area, is expanding its activities in the Czech Republic. In addition to its offices in Prague and Brno, in March this year the company opened a new branch in Ostrava with capacity for up to 140 jobs.
The Ostrava facility offers space for independently working teams composed of analysts, developers, testers and project managers who are focused on development of expansive software applications and support for the operation thereof.
The Czech branch of CGI is an important partner for clients in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, as well as in Great Britain, the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Scandinavia.
The products and projects in which CGI’s Czech operation is involved include, among others, auditing of toll systems in several countries, digitisation of the Czech National Library, applications for analysing credit and operating risks for international investment banks, IT solutions for supporting key business process of the company OTE, and cooperation with the European Space Agency on projects involving the Galileo navigation system.
CGI employs 68,000 people in forty countries, including nearly 600 IT specialists in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The company has been operating in the Czech Republic since 1993.
