A persistent problem of many Czech companies consists in their isolation and insufficient communication and cooperation with the science and research sphere. A possible solution to this problem could be to find a suitable form of partnership that would assist the development of companies and improvement of their competitiveness.
Forms of partnership
- Science and technology parks – provide necessary space and services to innovative firms with a longer business history
- Business incubators – support and create a foundation for establishing start-up companies with good ideas
- Technology transfer centres – facilitate the transfer of new and hitherto unused technologies to firms
- Technology platforms – sector groupings associating “key players” in the field at the national level and focusing on science and research
- Clusters and poles of excellence – cooperative groupings associating companies in a given field with research and other institutes in a region
