Business Incubator of the Palacký University Science and Technology Park in Olomouc named Business Property of the Year 2010
2 Nov. 2011 | CzechInvest | The business incubator won in the High-Tech Property of the Year category.
The business incubator helps start-up businesses with original ideas. It facilitates newly established firms’ entry into the real-world business environment, helps with the smooth start of business and supports such firms’ further growth and development. The incubator, which is part of the Science and Technology Park of Palacký University, is currently fully occupied, with 27 firms operating there. These are the reasons why the incubator was named the High-Tech Property of the Year 2010 within the Business Property of the Year 2010 competition.
The second-place winner is Innovation Park, which is operated by the South Moravian Innovation Centre. Innovation Park provides facilities and various forms of support to start-up firms with innovative projects, all in one place. The South Moravian Innovation Centre places strong emphasis on allowing only high-quality and innovative firms which create new jobs for skilled employees to operate in Innovation Park. During seven years in operation, the South Moravian Innovation Centre has supported the establishment of more than fifty firms.
Third place was awarded to the Forum Business Centre of PFM-Group, which in the past was an administrative building of the state-owned enterprise Tesla in Brno – Královo Pole. Since 2006, the centre’s tenants have included, for example, Red Hat, which is globally renowned for software development, particularly the Linux operating system. PFM-Group takes a maximally helpful approach toward its clients. For example, it built an additional two floors of the Forum Business Centre in 2010 specifically to meet the needs of Red Hat.
