Americký Red Hat rozšířil svou brněnskou pobočku

The dramatic development of and rising demand for cloud technologies prompted the software giant Red Hat to again expand its Brno branch. The company opened the new facility, which has capacity for 350 workers, on Wednesday, 13 August 2014. In his opening remarks, the development centre’s director, Radovan Musil, thanked CzechInvest for the assistance and support that the agency has provided to the company. Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, the participating guests, including representatives of CzechInvest, were given a tour of the new facility. The newly constructed building is the company’s biggest investment in Brno to date. Red Had has been steadily expanding in the city for several years and, according to expectations, will add yet another new workplace within three years.

The Brno branch is Red Hat’s biggest development centre worldwide. Linux, middleware, cloud, storage and other systems are developed there. The company particularly values its skilled workers in Brno, as well as the possibility of cooperation with Czech and Slovak universities. Red Hat’s Czech branch is an applicant for aid from the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation, which is administered by CzechInvest. The agency also assists the company with relocating foreign workers.
