American company Chassix to build automotive component factory in Ostrava

On Wednesday, 15 March 2017, the American company Chassix announced its intention to manufacture passenger-car chassis and driveline components in Ostrava. The company plans to begin production at the beginning of 2015 and to employ up to 350 people. Chassix is investing CZK 1.3 billion in construction of a completely new 13,000 m2 manufacturing plant.

After France and Spain, the Ostrava facility will be the company’s third factory and first foundry in Europe. By means of this investment, the global manufacturer of automotive components intends to strengthen its production in Europe. Chassix has 24 factories in seven countries and employs 4,500 people.
