Up to 500 people will be employed at the new facility in management and support positions. The new corporate offices will be home to five departments in which mainly highly qualified employees will work in the IT and HR areas. Amazon’s Prague offices will also be staffed by employees supporting the operation of the company’s distribution centres in the Czech Republic and Poland. According to Amazon’s plans, its logistics centre in Dobrovíz will open in September this year at the latest.

“After announcing our intention to open our corporate offices in Prague, we were excited by the number of Czechs who applied to work with us,” said Roy Perticucci, vice-president of Amazon for Europe. “In the Czech Republic there are a lot of highly qualified professionals who are open to gaining new experience in an innovative technology firm such as Amazon. I would like to once again thank the Czech government for its support and the local representatives who supported us in building up our operation here.”
