  • The Czech Republic aims for succes in its bid to host Galileo headquarters

    The City of Prague is focusing its efforts on becoming the headquarters of the Galileo European navigation system, which is to free the European Union from dependence on the American GPS model. A presentation in support of the Czech Republic’s candidature is being given in the European Parliament in Brussels through Wednesday. CzechInvest played an important role in preparing the presentation.

    The Czech Republic has experienced year-on-year growth in the number of foreign investors’ technology centres. This year 11 foreign companies have decided to establish research-and-development centres in the country and are planning to hire 420 employees. In the whole of 2005 only eight international companies established such centres in the Czech Republic.
